Cyber Advisory

Give leadership a clear next step.

Security decisions involve people, processes and business priorities. Guardian helps leaders organize the work, understand the gaps and plan the next steps.

Who it is for

Leaders who need a defensible plan, not more jargon

Banks and credit unions, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, colleges and any organization that answers to an examiner, auditor, insurer or board. You need someone who can organize security decisions, explain them plainly and help you show your work.

Common reasons leaders call

  • An exam, audit or insurance renewal is coming up.
  • Security responsibilities are spread across people with no clear owner.
  • The board is asking questions nobody can answer confidently.
  • A customer or partner sent a security questionnaire.
  • Internal IT is stretched and needs leadership support.

How we help

Four ways to engage

Engagements are scoped to your organization. Many start with one area and grow from there.

Lead

Cybersecurity leadership

Ongoing virtual CISO support for organizations without a full-time security leader. Someone experienced helps set priorities, prepares leadership and board discussions, and keeps decisions moving.

  • Security priorities and roadmap
  • Leadership and board reporting
  • Decision and risk ownership

Prove

Program and review readiness

Build a security program you can explain and defend. Policies your team can actually use, and evidence organized before an exam, audit or questionnaire arrives.

  • Written security program and policies
  • Exam and audit preparation
  • Evidence organization

Assess

Risk and security assessments

Know where you stand and where to go next. Assessments are scoped in writing before they begin, so you know exactly what is examined and what you receive.

  • Risk and security assessments
  • Vulnerability management
  • Third-party and vendor risk
  • Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions

Prepare

People and response readiness

Help your people recognize risk and respond with clarity when something goes wrong.

  • Security awareness training
  • Incident response planning
  • Cloud and technology governance

How it works

From first conversation to a scoped engagement

  1. Tell us what you are facing

Business priorities, current ownership, and any review or decision on the calendar.

  2. Agree on the scope

We explain what an appropriately scoped engagement would cover, what access is needed and what you receive.

  3. Work the plan

Decisions, owners and evidence are documented as we go, so leadership always knows where things stand.

From the field

Guardian began as a security advisory practice for banks and other regulated institutions.

Common questions

Will the introductory call tell us whether we are compliant?

No. It helps identify the appropriate next step. A formal assessment or advisory engagement requires an agreed scope and evidence.

We already have an IT team or provider. Do we still need advisory help?

Often, yes. Running IT day to day and leading a security program are different jobs. Advisory work is designed to sit alongside your existing team, and the scope makes clear who owns what.

Do we need to share sensitive information to get started?

No. The first conversation is about priorities, ownership and deadlines. Please do not send audit evidence, credentials or incident details through the website.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the scope: an ongoing leadership role, a defined project such as an assessment, or help preparing for a specific review. We agree on the scope before proposing a price.

Is this only for banks?

No. Guardian has deep roots in regulated industries, but advisory work fits any organization that answers to a board, examiner, auditor, insurer or demanding customer.
